The Forum For Women Entrepreneurs BC – A Businesswoman’s Must-Do!

On January 27, I had the privilege to talk to FWEBC or the Forum For Women Entrepreneurs BC.

I do quite a bit of speaking to a wide variety of groups, but this gig was different. By this time in my life, I get the fact that men and women are wired differently and approach both opportunity and challenges from different perspectives.

I spoke for about 20 mins about forming strategic partnerships, and some of other core business philosophies, etc. Then the real value of the FWEBC organization kicked in. The group really jumped into a conversation both with me and other members with a candour I rarely see at any networking event.

These businesswomen ask really great questions. It’s clear they are on learning curves and had no problem asking for or sharing quality advice. Generally, us guys do not do that – I know I don’t.

I do get asked by businesswomen if I know of quality networking organizations I would recommend. I just found the one that tops my list. If you are a businesswoman, want to grow your business, get ongoing and – most importantly – genuine support and advice, FWEBC is a Must-Do!

So, I would like to thank Cybele Negris (@cybelenegris), co-Founder of Webnames, for encouraging me to clear my schedule. Mackenzie Biggar, Program Manager of FWEBC, for helping me get organized, Jill Earthy, for the great introduction, and Lisa Colls-Simpson of Wardell Professional Development, for the big thank you and the great bottle of red wine (Quails Gate Merlot – one of my faves).

To all of the businesswomen who attended and participated, thanks for a great evening. I had a blast.

And all you guys, if you get a chance to speak at the FWEBC, take my word for it, it’s a Must-Do

for you.
